Legal Guarantees

Legal guarantees apply independently of any commercial warranty that may be offered.

Legal guarantee of conformity

Consumers benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity under the conditions set out in the French Consumer Code. For new goods, claims are generally subject to a two-year limitation period from delivery.

Where legal conditions are met, the consumer may request repair or replacement, subject to the rules provided by law.

Guarantee against hidden defects

The seller is liable for hidden defects under Articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code. The defect must notably be hidden, pre-existing and make the item unfit for its intended use or substantially reduce its use.

Claims must generally be brought within two years of discovering the defect, in accordance with Article 1648 of the French Civil Code.
